I have said this before and I will undoubtedly say it again, another month, another wonderful Victorian Tourism Industry Council Mixer! Held once again at the DoubleTree by Hilton in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. This month’s mixer gathered tourism and hospitality businesses from far and wide.
The attendees for the VTIC mixers are always a varied and fascinating bunch, ranging from tour operators through to destinations. There is never any shortage of engaging conversation to be had. Alongside many familiar faces, there were new people to connect with. I spoke with many people from both destinations and tours, as well as industries supplementing the Tourism Industry.
The VTIC and DoubleTree staff put on a wonderful spread, with catering options to cater to every need. As with previous months the VTIC team organised another ice breaker to encourage people to have more conversations. This month the theme was locations and destinations. On each name tag a place or area was printed, the idea being that you tried to find the matching half. For instance, I had Dal Zotto Wines and I had to locate the King Valley. This gave people a great way to break into conversations.
As always I had a wonderful time with the VTIC Mixer. The catering was fantastic, the people were more than happy to share what they do and the space was a great highlight of what Victoria has to offer. I am definitely excited to attend more VTIC Mixers in the coming months.
